Dubbed "The Movie Detective" by the trade web sites for his encyclopedic knowledge of films, Lyle Monroe had a remarkable, decade-long run in Hollyworld. On retainer to Mexicali Pictures, under the leadership of Diego Rodriguez, he had plenty of work, a high profile media presence, and most importantly, he loved what he did. Plus he hadn't had a drop to drink in over nine years.

That all changed with the death of his friend Diego in 2064. Lyle didn't exactly see eye to eye with Miguel Gangarosa, the new studio head. Another death would end up costing Lyle his job, his sobriety and his heart.

It was in this condition that Mariana Espezito first walked into his office. She offered him a partnership in her detective agency, and, without realizing it, a shot at redemption.

Could Lyle ignore the bottle, and his pain, long enough rejoin the fast track in Hollyworld?
